Can you please look over my cover letter ?
Asked by asicsrocks2120
Can you tell me if my cover letter is good? This is what I have so far . Dear Mr.Smith, Please accept this letter and accompanying resume as application for this position as a Call Center Agent. Your advertisement seems to perfectly match my background and experience. I have good hands on packages used for computer-telephone interface (CTI) and has the ability to be a good listener, compassionate to provide outstanding service to the customers with proven customer service skills. I believe that I could make a significant and valuable contribution in your firm. Along with the distinct score I achieved while in training for the call center agent position, I am also very proficient in Microsoft Office programs with a typing speed of 40+ wpm. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how my education and experience will be helpful to you. I am available for an interview at your convenience and look forward to meeting with you. Sincerely, John Smith **What do you think?**

It's getting there. You really need to fix up the middle paragraph, which has significant grammar and style problems. First sentence, maybe you mean "I have good hands-on experience with packages..." Should be "I have the ability" not "has the ability" etc. etc. Maybe you have a friend you could sit down with and have them proofread it with you?

A:
That's a great letter and is "by the book". It expresses your interest and also expresses what you'd bring to the table. Very professional and should get you the job!

whay have you put 'and has the ability to be a good listener' you either 'have the ability to be a good listener' or you 'are a good listener' try "with my valuable skills and qualities, I believe that I would be a valuable addition to your firm."

That looks just fine. I know a slick way to manage your cover letters and contacts, too. It's called GigTide.com. It has a cool resume tracking feature and dashboard.
