What is considered part time work in CA to receive unemployment benefits?
Asked by Devin
I've gotten my hours cut back at my job that I've been with for nearly three years now and I'm barely getting by. I've searched all over the EDD website for what is considered part time and haven't found anything. Is part time anything less than 40 hours per week??? I live and work in California. Any help is appreciated!

There is no part time/full time, it's really based on the amount of money you earn.
You can file a claim based on a reduction of work hours. Depending on how much your income has been reduced will determine if you are eligible for UI.

Look on page 17 of that Guide To Unemployment Benefits book. You can collect unemployment and work part time.
