Berkeley Unified is a K-12 public school district serving over 9,532 students. It is located in Berkeley, California located east of San Francisco between Richmond and Oakland in Alameda County.
In 1968 Berkeley was the first major school district in the country to
voluntarily desegregate its schools.
The city is situated in a choice location and home of UC Berkeley and has a variety of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities including the Berkeley Repertory Theater and Berkeley Art Museum and the Pacific Film Archive.
In addition, there are a number of other major colleges and universities within a short drive from the city. Easy access to the seashore and ski areas and the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the San Francisco Bay Area are advantages of living in this community. |
