W&O Supply is the largest marine supplier of pipes, valves and fittings in the United States. The company was originally started by Bill Weedon (the "W") and Percy Oberman (the "O") as an engineering firm in the early 1970's. In 1975, Herbert E. Goelz purchased the company, retained the name and began supplying ships and shipyards in Jacksonville, Florida with piping products. Mr. Goelz is a graduate of Kings Point Maritime Academy and was a chief mate on liberty ships during World War II. His love for the marine business and a vision to be in every major port in the United States is how W&O became and still to this day, the only nationwide supplier of pipes, valves and fittings to the marine industry.
W&O Supply serves all facets of the marine community including U.S. and Foreign shipping companies, the U.S. Navy, cruise companies, barge owners, offshore rig companies and shipyards that build and repair vessels of all sizes. We can supply everything from the smallest stainless steel fitting for a pleasure yacht in Ft. Lauderdale to the largest sea valves used by an aircraft carrier in Norfolk. W&O Supply was sold by the Goelz family in 1999 to Pon Holdings. Pon is a multi-billion dollar privately held company based in the Netherlands. Pon provides W&O with financial support and leadership to continue growing our business model throughout the world. Today, W&O Supply operates thirteen branch offices in the United States and one international location in Belgium. The company employs one hundred and eighty full-time people in sales, distribution, purchasing, accounting, technology and management. W&O Supply is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. |
