Corporate Background
SEMICOA is a leader in the design and development of small signal and power transistors for high-reliability military/aerospace and commercial markets, and silicon photodiodes.

Beginning in 1968 SEMICOA has specialized in the manufacturing of discrete silicon semiconductors focusing on small signal transistors and optoelectronics. SEMICOA has a complete line of standard products and can design custom components. The design, development and wafer fabrication operations are located in Southern California.

The facility achieved the highest U.S. government qualification (JANS, MIL-PRF-19500, Space Level) for the production of electronic components and is also ISO9001, and AS9100 certified. The modern manufacturing facility performs discrete and hybrid assembly utilizing innovative techniques and processes. High volume production is performed on dedicated assembly lines to reduce cost and increase throughput.

Electrical Test Capability

Parametric testing is performed using a multi-station computer controlled test system. This system provides accurate, rapid testing capability to 10 picoamps leakage, 200 amps current, and 1500 volts. The computer provides full statistical capability for product analysis on a lot-by-lot basis, even histograms showing parametric distribution at wafer probe.

The Test System is supplemented by numerous other pieces of equipment to perform tests such as switching, forward and reverse bias SOA. Our optical test laboratory is capable of characterizing all parameters for photodiodes. All power transistors are 100% tested on a delta VBE tester. At SEMICOA, our customers can be assured that their product has not only been tested, but that it has been tested correctly to their specified requirements.

Environmental & Life Testing Capability

SEMICOA has the capability in-house to perform most environmental and life tests required by MIL-PRF-19500 for JAN through JANS level transistors. This capability includes Temperature Cycling, Constant Acceleration, Hermeticity - Fine and Gross leak, PIND testing, Salt Atmosphere, High Temperature Reverse Bias, Power Burn-In at both ambient and 100 deg.C case temperature, plus numerous other tests.
Quality System

SEMICOA is ISO 9001-2000 certified, MIL-PRF-19500 (JANS Level) certified, MIL-I-45208 quality system approved and AS9100:2004 Rev. B certified. All areas are ESD compliant. We strive for continuous, never-ending quality improvement in our products and services. We focus all of our activities toward customer satisfaction and the delivery of quality product on-time to meet customer needs. To this end, we have a fully implemented Operator Certification program, and all applicable manufacturing operations utilize Statistical Process Control techniques.

We maintain full documentation for each product, including the required compliance testing. Our Quality Department coordinates all quality conformance inspections, and maintains lot histories for each product. Our commitment to quality is evident from our facilities and clean rooms.
