Daniel’s 125th Anniversary Means Better Lives for Thousands of Children
This year marks daniel’s 125th year of serving community kids in crisis. Originally established as an orphanage in 1884, daniel has evolved into a multi-service agency that helps an average of 1,000 abused, abandoned and neglected youth each day.
On January 26, daniel’s staff, board of directors and young clients gathered on the Belfort Road campus along with community leaders and supporters as Mayor John Peyton proclaimed it “daniel Day” in Jacksonville and oversaw the burial of a time capsule to be opened on daniel’s 150th anniversary.
This special ceremony launched a 125-day celebration dedicated to educating the community on the status of area children in need and the many ways daniel can help. The celebration will culminate in special anniversary event on May 30.
YOU are invited to join in the celebration. There’s no more meaningful way to participate and positively impact local children than making a donation or offering your time as a volunteer, mentor or foster parent. Together, we CAN make a difference in children’s lives.
