The Minneapolis VA Medical Center (MVAMC) and the Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to attract, develop, and retain people who provide high quality service to our Nation's veterans and their families.

Excellent employment opportunities are available in all areas of our dynamic healthcare system. In fiscal year 2005, the medical center employed over 3000. The composition was: 205 physicians, 748 registered nurses, 265 licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants, and 1822 other types of employees. The medical center treated over 71,000 unique patients. The outpatient workload was 581,223.

The Minneapolis VA medical center is responsible for the planning and operation of six Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Minnesota. In addition the VA medical center also provides educational opportunities for a wide array of healthcare professionals. It is affiliated with the University of Minnesota Medical and Dental Schools. There are over 1000 students and residents trained and educated annually at the medical center. The Minneapolis VAMC has affiliation agreements with other area schools including our own hospital-based training program for radiology technicians. The medical center also has 19 affiliations with Schools of Nursing.
