District Superintendent Opportunity

The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES serves 31 school districts in the southern Adirondack-Saratoga region of New York. The Supervisory District is home to 42,500 students and is geographically the second largest BOCES in New York State.
WSWHE BOCES provides cost-effective, shared programs of excellence in Career and Technical Education, Special and Alternative Education, Gifted and Talented Education, and a range of Administrative and School Support Services. A wide variey of Adult Education classes are also offered as well as custom business training.
Last year, approximately 95% of the $63.4 million operating budget was spent directly supporting school districts and educating students. Component schools within the supervisory area realized $17 million in state-level BOCES Aid, which, in turn, helped districts offset the cost of education for local taxpayers.
The WSWHE BOCES is a regional leader in all areas, especially those pertaining to the development of a talent pipeline to serve New York's Tech Valley. We seek an individual with the leadership qualities to carry on this important work.
Under Education Law, the District Superintendent of School serves as regional representative of the Commissioner of Education and Chief Executive Officer of the WSWHE BOCES. The District Superintendent plans, administers, and supervises regional educational programs and related managerial support services for participating component school districts.
