Alliance Human Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization that specializes in therapeutic foster care programs for children with medical and/or emotional needs. The foster care operations of Alliance are expanding human services organizations that currently operate in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. On an average daily basis there are approximately 2,300 children being served nationally under the Alliance programs.
Through its human services programs, Alliance seeks to provide community based care in home settings for children and adolescents who have come into the custody of public agencies. Typically these children have emotional or physical disabilities of sufficient severity as to preclude them from remaining in their own homes. Alliance operates intense, highly supported foster care programs designed to provide an alternative to institutional placements.
Our goal is to continue to provide the highest quality of services to children and to expand those operations to assure a financially sound and viable organization. We also look to continually monitor the human services arena to determine what services are not currently being met and to add programs that fit into the mission of the organization.
Alliance is looking for caring individuals who are willing to open their hearts and homes to children with emotional, behavioral and physical challenges, and/or developmental disabilities. Alliance foster parents are team players committed to making a difference by creating a safe and nurturing environment for children with special needs.
"Now that my kids are grown, I want to share what I have to make a difference. I have room and time. Becoming an Alliance Parent has been one of the highlights of the last year!"
"I care about my community and I’ve been looking for a way to make a contribution to it. I'm a teacher and I love children, so I decided to become a foster parent!"
Alliance offers:
· A competitive stipend · Free training and skill development · Access to 24-hr professional support · Support groups for parents · The chance to make a positive impact on the future of a child
Persons interested in becoming a foster parent are required to meet Alliance’s prerequisites for service, as well as any licensing and certification requirements of the state and/or funding source. The Program Recruiter conducts an extensive home study with fire safety and health inspections to ensure that the home meets all of Alliance’s standards and all state and local licensing requirements. Additionally, Alliance conducts a FBI fingerprint background check and a criminal background check of every adult member (18 years of age or older) in the candidate’s household. Employment references, as well as personal references, are also reviewed. All household members must submit a current medical report.
