Staff Accountant: Stage Stores Inc.

To assist in the General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the preparation of the Company’s internal and external financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

· Participate in the monthly close process by preparing journal entries and analyzing G/L accounts.

· Ensure work is in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

· Prepare various monthly reconciliations

· Participate in the monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet review meetings with Management

· Write reports using Oracle, Discoverer and other systems

· Work on other special projects as assigned

Skills Required:

· Bachelors degree in accounting or finance (experience a plus)

· Strong computer skills using Microsoft Excel and Word, Access preferred

· Oracle experience a plus

· A good team worker who can also work independently

· Creative thinker and problem solver

· 10-Key by touch

· Ability to work under pressure of deadlines

· Strong analytical skills and good organization

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
