Plant Manager-Airgas Specialty Products- LaMirada, CA
Airgas, Inc. is the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding, safety and related products, is currently seeking a qualified Plant Manager for our location in LaMirada, CA.
This individual will manage the distribution business for Airgas Specialty Products in a fast growing market. The position would be responsible for the day-to-day activities of warehousing, production, and route deliveries for distribution. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Supervise truck and rail distribution of product to Customers and Warehouses.
•Supervise all assigned vehicles, both leased and owned, to include maintenance, safety compliance and route schedules.
•Supervise product supply and inventory, and assist management with inventory planning and rail car demands as necessary.
•Total responsibility for safety compliance with vehicles, drivers, locations and employees.
•Will oversee hiring, training and safety for associates. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to; associate, coaching, training, compliance and discipline. .
•Will work with customer base and maintain contact with sales associates, in order to maximize customer service.

•8+ years experience.
•Bachelor Degree preferred.
•Knowledge of Safety and Regulatory/DOT/OSHA/EPA Compliance.
•Experience with hazardous material with knowledge in hazmat regulations.
•Inventory management.
•Ensure that the dispatching process for delivering product is efficient and effected.
•Manage personnel within a unionized plant, including drivers.
•Willingness to assist other plants in the Region.
•Budgeting experience.
•Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS office.
•Oral and writing skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Practical knowledge of the English language.
•Good organizational skills.
•Communication skills in order to effectively communicate with branch associates and all levels of management within Airgas.
•Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
