Summary

Entrust is looking for a Junior Computer System Administrator to join our growing Managed Services PKI team at our Washington, DC area location (McLean, VA). The person filling this position will be responsible for the overall uptime of the service. This includes day-to-day operational tasks required to maintain our systems, identifying possible improvements, and responding to alarms from monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Periodic health checks of the systems
  • Identify and implement preventive maintenance to prevent outages
  • Respond to alerts from monitoring system
  • Providing second line support for customer issues
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to alarms during off-hours

Skills - Required

  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux
  • High-level understanding of networking concepts
  • Web servers (IIS, Apache)

Skills - Desirable

  • Familiarity with the following technologies is an asset:
    • PKIs and certificates
    • LDAP directories
    • VMWare ESX
    • Monitoring tools
  • Scripting languages such as Perl or Unix shell to automate various daily tasks

Key Requirements

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, clearable to Secret
  • College or university graduate with degree in IT preferred
  • Carry a cell phone for off-hours monitoring of systems (on-call rotation)
  • Willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours (e.g., noon to 9 pm)
