Hastings Utilities-Whelan Energy Center Applications are being accepted thru November 13, 2009 for the following full-time positions: Instrument Technician Assistant Performs troubleshooting, repair & maintenance duties on instrumentation associated with the proper operation of a coal-fired electrical generation facility. Must have education or experience equal to associates degree in electronics technology or electrical technology from an accredited college or courses in mechanics, electronics or electrical studies with three years experience in an equivalent position. $22.990-$29.907/plus full benefits. Laboratory Technician Performs duties associated with the proper sampling and maintenance of the plants' water systems and performs coal fineness tests. Must have experience or education equal to bachelor's degree with major course work in chemistry or biology plus two years experience performing laboratory analysis. $23.104-$32.52/hr plus full benefits. Application testing will be conducted November 9-13 for the following: Plant Storekeeper Performs duties involving procuring needed supplies, parts and materials needed to operate a steam generating power plan. Must have education and experience equal to high school diploma plus three years experience in a related position. $17.380-$24.235/hr plus full benefits. All three positions require a valid driver's license and require the employee to live within six miles of the Hastings' city limits.
