Liz Claiborne Inc. Spring Internship 2010- Information Systems- Global Supply/Demand




Overview:

Gain exciting, valuable, and fashionable work experience during your summer semester with the Liz Claiborne Inc. Spring 2010 Internship Program!

With internship opportunities in many of our brands such as Juicy, Lucky, kate spade, Liz Claiborne, DKNY Jeans and more, this will be an internship unlike any other.

Our Sring 2010 Internship Program is for credit ONLY and can be part-time or full-time. Opportunities are available in New York City as well as our headquarters in North Bergen, New Jersey.


Responsibilities:

This rapidly moving IT team is responsible for system, hardware, and application support spanning across the corporate and retail arenas.

They analyze user requirements and issues, enhance existing computer systems, monitor the usage of network infrastructure, analyze user requirements and issues in order to improve telecommunication processes, and perform primary, secondary, and tertiary level support for Liz Claiborne corporate and store systems.


Qualifications:

Requirements

Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related technical area
Microsoft Office Suite including Project Plan, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio (must have)
Windows XP (must have)
Oracle PL/SQL, Toad (a plus)
Magic Help Desk Software (a plus)
AS400 exposure (a plus)
Local Area Network and NT environment (a plus)
Knowledge of warehouse processes/procedures (a plus)
Frame relay support experience (a plus)
A+ Certification (a plus)
IP Telephony exposure (a plus)
Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Unity messaging and QoS (a plus)
Familiar with Unix and Microsoft Server technology (a plus)
Familiar with internetworking products with an emphasis on Cisco concepts and systems (a plus)


Minimum Qualifications (must have)
- Currently enrolled in college
- A Sophomore, Junior or Senior
- Eligible to receive college credit for the internship
- Minimum 2.8 GPA
- Prior retail experience is a plus!

Preferred Qualifications:

• Self starter
• Effective at written and verbal communication
• Superior organizational skills to track time spent on projects
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in PC skills (preferably with the Microsoft Office suite of products)
