Customer Service Specialist

As a customer service specialist, you will manage the order fulfillment process in the areas of order placement, orders status, backorder resolution, shipping discrepancies, etc. Responsible for achieving results to meet volume demands relating to calls, customer problem resolution and continuous improvement programs. In addition, your responsibilities will include: 1. Manages telephone, fax, and electronic or web product orders. Handles exceptions as required and handles general inquiries and correspondence for customers. 2. Resolves customer questions, complaints and requests, where judgment and initiative are required to resolve and/or make recommendations. For instance tracks, codes, investigates and resolves problems related to shipment of products, returns, credits, and new orders. 3. Interfaces with and may provide limited support to company sales representatives. 4. Through the ordering process obtains information on the amount, type, stock on hand. May expedite product availability and manage the release of back orders. May monitor reorder points and initiate action to replenish stock. Works with the customer to determine needed quantities and frequency of delivery of product. 5. Documents service issues/requirements. May maintain other records. 6. May provide assistance with new employee phase-in and departmental cross-training. 7. May be called upon to serve on project teams and/or help develop new processes and procedures for the overall team.
Demonstrated successful interpersonal skills, process orientation and results orientation. Demonstrated excellent problem solving and computer skills. JD Edwards, Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Siebel, Access a plus. Knowledge of BioScience products and customers a plus. Demonstrated ability to work in matrix environment across multiple business functions. Bachelor?s degree preferred. One to two years customer service/operations experience desired. Must be available to work 9:30am - 6:00pm shift.
