The primary role of the Valet is to create a positive first and last impression to customers (patients, families, visitors, etc.) who use Valet Service at any valet entrance. The Valet is under general supervision and is responsible for greeting customers, safely parking vehicles in assigned location, and following operational guidelines to ensure safety of vehicle and contents for all parking garages and surface lots on the Baylor Health Care System. Job Functions I. Greet arriving customers, to include opening car door, making eye contact, exchanging friendly greeting, issue valet ticket and tag keys. II. Parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt, yet safe manner; assisting with customers' belongings such as baby strollers, suit jackets, and wheelchairs; and providing driving directions and other information to guests. Offer friendly farewell as customer enters vehicle to leave. III. Follow operating procedures for tagging keys, securing vehicle, and returning keys to secure location in accordance to safety and loss prevention policies including: issuing claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys; collecting claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; maintaining security within parking lot; abiding by all revenue collection and control procedures; consistently completing and maintaining all ticket information; and immediately reporting all incidents to the Supervisor. IV. Valets are responsible for the general upkeep, inside and outside, of all valet entrances. V. Present neat, clean professional appearance to customers at all times, per Parking and Transportation Services grooming and uniform guidelines. VI. Understand and adhere to all BHCS policies & procedures. VII. Maintain Parking and Transportations Services Customer Service standards at all times. Consistently maintain a professional courteous attitude when dealing with customers, co-workers, management, and the general public. Job Requirements Must be able to Pre-employment physical, pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver license and driving record that meets BHCS insurance standards for duration of employment in this position. Must possess a 3 year clean MVR Must possess at least 1 year valet driving experience Must be able to stand and walk distance for extended periods of time Must be able to vehicles of all sizes. Must be able to fit into and operate all types of vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmissions in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to work inside garage (covered parking) and outside (uncovered parking) in variety of weather and conditions. Must be able to quickly return to Valet "drop off" point after parking vehicle. Fast walking and/or running short to moderate distances may be required depending on volume of business and staffing levels. Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. PLEASE APPLY USING THIS BUTTON ONLY
